Full time contract based on 37 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen for motivated and flexible individuals to join the College’s busy Estates Team at its vibrant Coventry city center campus.
Working closely with other members of the team, you will help provide an effective maintenance service to ensure that all areas of the College are safe to use and of a high standard.
• Carry out PPM and repair work to include fire doors, access control door locks, window mechanism repairs and other assorted work in accordance with Estates schedules and accepted good working practices to ensure safe and reliable services.
• When required give assistance and support to other trade disciplines within the Estates Department to ensure an efficient Estates service is provided.
• To become fully conversant with the systems within the remit of the Estates Department.
• When required help the Estates and Facilities staff in non-maintenance tasks.
• Be able to read, understand and work from engineering and architectural drawings.
• To carry out all duties in a safe manner, having regard for the safety of others.
• To undergo all necessary update and health & safety training.
• To carry out routine checks of equipment recording results in accordance with Estates Department policy and procedures recording works and faults on the Estates CMMS Database.
• Participation in response/emergency teams for fire, major incident and any other requiring an Estates Department input.
• Required to carry a radio, as and when operational needs require, responding to urgent requests from the line managers and fire group calls during their working shifts.
• Record work information on CMMS system.
The successful candidate must have experience of working in a similar role undertaking relevant site maintenance and general maintenance duties. The ability to lift and move equipment and furniture is an essential part of the role.
City & Guilds Carpentry Qualifications essential and Full Driving License would be an advantage.
With good communication skills, the ability to work flexibly and possessing a friendly and helpful attitude, you will be a team player who is also able to work with minimal supervision.
