• Serves as the Operating Analyst on assigned facility monitoring schedule and delivery tracking for assigned program or programs.

The Deputy Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor Deputy Program Coordinator works closely with the local BHIP Program Manager/Coordinator, and has direct line authority and is accountable for all aspects of the clinical care and support services provided to Veteran in the BHIP program at a specific location. In addition to providing direct patient care, the Senior LPMHC functions as the facility Baker Act Coordinator and has supportive administrative duties.

James A Haley TAMPA VAMC is looking to fill multiple LPMHC Program Coordinator positions at two of their facilities: Temple Terrace outpatient clinic and Tampa Main Campus hospital.

LPMHC Program Coordinators are administratively responsible for a clinical program and provide treatment to patients in a major specialty. They manage the daily operations of the program, develop policies and procedures, and prepare reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use. They will clinically supervise unlicensed graduate interns/LPMHCs and may administratively manage any employees assigned to their program.

Incumbent is expected to perform full range of assessment/treatment services to assigned patients that would include comprehensive review of current mental illness symptoms, advanced psychosocial case and care management, discharge planning, health care coordination advocacy and referral, community referrals, and the rendering of a decision regarding the presenting diagnosis with coordination of the treatment plan including recommendations for continued treatment or therapy for a variety of different mental disorders that could include particularly complex or unusually difficult patients.

The incumbent serves as an RCS Vet Center Readjustment Counselor, providing counseling services, outreach, referral, and follow up care coordination to eligible individuals, couples, and family members. In this capacity, the incumbent functions as a member of a small multi-disciplinary team of 4 or more staff members. This entails the incumbent contributing proactively to internal coordination of care and collaborative planning and problem solving among all staff. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Screening and Assessment: Will work directly with eligible individuals to establish a therapeutic relationship sufficient for completing all required readjustment counseling intake procedures to include an assessment of risk for self-harm and psychosocial functioning. This information will be used as the foundation for identifying the presenting clinical focus areas and for developing the readjustment counseling service plan.
• Counseling Planning/Goal Setting: Develop and periodically update an individualized readjustment counseling service plan that reflects a course of therapeutic and psychosocial interventions, including identification of achievable goals and measurable outcomes.
• Direct Counseling Service Provision: Will implement the individualized counseling plan through an appropriate course of individual, group, couple and/or family readjustment counseling. • Risk Assessment and Crisis Intervention: Will apply risk assessment procedures during the initial assessment and periodically throughout the planned course of readjustment counseling as required and appropriate.
