Ideal General Classroom Assistant requirements:
- Utilize your minimum of 6 months' experience in the education or care sectors to excel in this role.
- Showcase your proficiency in GCSE English and Maths, achieving Grade 4 (Grade C) or higher.
- Prioritizing personal growth, possess a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (preferred, but not essential).
- Demonstrate commitment to safeguarding with an Enhanced Child-Only DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
- Ensure you have the legal right to work in the UK.

Work Responsibilities:
As a General Classroom Assistant with GSL Educational in Leicester City, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning practitioners while making a positive impact on the lives of students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons by actively participating in classroom activities and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
- Individual Student Support: Provide one-on-one assistance to students who require additional guidance, ensuring their understanding and progress in academic tasks.
- Behavior Management: Help maintain discipline and promote positive behavior among students, implementing appropriate strategies to manage challenging behaviors when necessary.
- Resource Preparation: Prepare teaching materials, resources, and equipment, ensuring they are readily available for lessons and activities.
- Group Activities: Collaborate with teachers to facilitate group activities, projects, and discussions, fostering teamwork and promoting social interaction among students.
- Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support: If you have SEN experience, provide targeted assistance and support to students with specific learning needs, following individual education plans (IEPs) as directed.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior incidents, and any notable observations, contributing to effective communication with teachers and parents.
- Safeguarding and Child Protection: Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, ensuring the well-being and safety of students at all times.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff, effectively communicating student progress, concerns, and achievements.
