Electrical Maintenance Plant Engineer

Salary: £36,500 per annum (increasing to £37,500 after probation), inclusive of shift allowance, plus bonus.

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting for an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer on behalf of their client, to work within a multi-skilled team. The role involves conducting planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities alongside reactive maintenance tasks in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

The shift pattern consists of 15 shifts, comprising 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday. This includes a week of day shifts (7am-3pm), a week of evening shifts (3pm-11pm), and a week of night shifts (11pm-7am).

Requirements:

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively within a team of multiskilled engineers while also being capable of independent work when necessary. Essential qualifications include being a qualified electrician with a relevant Level 3 electrical qualification (NVQ, ONC, BTEC, etc.). Knowledge of the 18th Edition regulations and basic mechanical skills are advantageous.

Desired skills and experience:

• Experience with low-voltage electrical systems, drives, and PLCs.
• Proficiency in fault-finding within electrical systems and conducting root cause failure analyses.
• Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (SAP PM experience is ideal).

Responsibilities:

The Electrician will be responsible for ensuring machinery operates at maximum efficiency while upholding the highest health and safety standards. This involves executing all maintenance activities according to site maintenance procedures.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Conducting electrical maintenance activities across the plant.
• Troubleshooting relay control circuits.
• Recording all engineering activities, including preventive, corrective, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance, using the site maintenance management system.
• Working with various types of drives, AC / DC motors, and performing basic PLC fault finding.
• Interpreting electrical drawings.
• Contributing to reducing the total life cycle cost of assets and maintenance costs.
• Maintaining all assets within designated areas to high engineering standards that align with business objectives.

Reporting to the Modifications and Upgrades Manager, your primary responsibility will be to undertake train maintenance of the depot rolling stock and conduct associated activities that support the operation of the fleet and depot in a safe way adhering to health and safety requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

• Working as part of the Engineering team, this challenging role involves reprofiling (wheel lathe) operations

To provide ad-hoc support to the Quality Assurance Department in assessment and monitoring of purchased unlicensed medicines and over labelled or repackaged TTO Packs This will include the following tasks; Inspection and release of unlicenced medicines and other products requiring QA approval and to work autonomously under the guidance of senior QA staff. Assist in the processing of in-house repackaged and over labelled TTO packs. Participate in the training of dispensary staff in GMP processes. Be responsible for unlicenced medicines in the dispensary ensuring best practice in supply. To participate in the management of TTO packs procured for use in the Trust under the guidance of senior QA staff. This will include: Annual usage review. Liaising with ward-based Pharmacists and Technicians. Assisting with the sourcing of new lines and alternative suppliers of existing lines. Review and update procedures and specifications for outsourced TTO packs. Ensure Directorate Pharmacist requests for all TTO packs are available and current. To use technical and pharmaceutical skills to ensure control, security, quality and value for money of medicines. This will include the following tasks: To assist in maintaining appropriate storage and stock levels of medicines in Pharmacy departments to ensure quality, potency and economy. To help to maintain an accurate computerised pharmacy stock control system; to take part in daily stock checks. To assess and return medicines for re-use in accordance with the departmental policy. To maintain necessary records. If required, to collate information and present reports. To undertake appropriate duties in the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Service.
