We are seeking a motivated and innovative pharmacy technician with a strong background across multiple specialties to join our team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust to work in the virtual ward clinical pharmacy service as part of the wider MDT.

In addition to excellent communication and leadership skills, you will have previous experience of working within a clinical environment. You will need to be comfortable collaborating with clinicians, managers, nurses and others to ensure that pharmaceutical care of virtual ward patients with a range of clinical conditions is safe and optimised. You will have the opportunity to provide pharmaceutical care to a wide range of patients and/or patient populations based on the evidence-base and/or best practice.

You will be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council, a Foundation degree in Medicines Management & Pharmacy services or equivalent would be advantageous

Virtual wards allow patients to receive the care they need at home safely and conveniently rather than being in hospital, using technology & digital platforms for us to monitor our patients across a range of clinical specialities.

The postholder will be part of the Community Healthcare Division clinical pharmacy service available to patients across the Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust (CHFT) footprint in their own homes in the Calderdale area. This may be as part of the CHFT Virtual Ward (VW) /Urgent Community Response Team (UCR) or the wider Community Healthcare Division.

This will require enthusiasm, self-motivation and commitment to forge excellent communication between primary and secondary care teams and drive the pharmacy team forward. The post holder will work with other health and social care organisations across Calderdale to implement and co-ordinate medicines optimisation principles to support patients in the safe and effective use of medicines in their own homes.

To work independently and without direct supervision across the CHFT footprint ensuring adherence to Medicines Optimisation protocols and guidance this will include domiciliary visits.

Job Description

What your working day will look like;

• Participating in the entire dispensing process
• Checking and preparing medication orders
• Ensuring accuracy and safety in handling and distributing pharmaceuticals

• Delivering courteous and effective customer service at all times.

In addition to dispensing prescriptions, you'll also have the opportunity to:

• Complete and maintain accurate administrative records
• Manage the inventory of pharmaceutical stock and equipment
• Receive, store and issue medications and other supplies
• Monitor expiration dates and ensure adequate stock levels
• Provide healthcare advice and signposting customers to appropriate resources when necessary.

Job Description

Reporting to the Engineering |Supervisor, the candidate will carry out, according to competency and with minimum supervision, those tasks necessary to achieve the objective of engineering maintenance and installation in accordance with the site HSE standards and desired site reliability and technical including:
* Must demonstrate a fundamental understanding of his/her particular core skill area.
* Carry out engineering activities in a safe manner, utilising appropriate PPE as specified.
* Be involved in all safety initiatives, i.e. audits, incident reporting, shutdown safety initiative, etc including use and engagement in site permit work procedures.
* Carry out planned maintenance activities in order to facilitate the move from breakdown to planned maintenance on site.
* Participate, as required, in the construction, installation and commissioning of approved plant modifications and projects.
* Overhaul equipment to manufacturer's/site standards in order to provide cost effective maintenance on site.
* Undergo basic engineering cross-skill training and upskill training in core skill area, and actively seek opportunities to apply these skills in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering activities on the site.
* Work flexibly in all required areas of the site and in close co-operation with other members of his/her engineering team.
* Undergo further training for either plant equipment or engineering tools changes, and assist in the training of new personnel where necessary. Use Maintenance Management Systems to create stores requisitions and feedback work details as necessary.

Qualifications

* Possess the relevant electrical and/or mechanical qualifications and experience to be able to work safely within a manufacturing environment.
* Possess fundamental engineering mechanical knowledge and skills.
* Apprentice trained in Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
* Educated to GCSE (Grades A-C) or equivalent
* IT literate.
* Team player.
* Positive communicator - verbal and written.
* Able to accept "change" and work flexibly to high standards.
* Customer focused (internal and external
* Ability to supervise and advise contract workers to safely complete required tasks on site.
* Experience of foam abrasive and extrusion manufacturing equipment.
