A background in the construction industry is essential for this role.

Your new role
You will report directly to the Head of Group Health, Safety and Environment and your key duties and responsibilities will be primarily to drive H&S standards, strategies and procedures across the business, and a collaborative safety culture. You'll be supporting the project teams with guidance and the processes required to maximise H&S across their sites and provide regular updates of site issues to the EHS Team. You will support site management, assist in resolving any issues as well as attend meetings and audits.

• Ensure a safe workplace without risk to health & environment
• Ensure company Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to

What you'll need to succeed
You'll have a strong background in driving the highest standards of H&S within a construction environment, and will ideally have experience of working for a main contractor. You must be able to build rapport with site project teams, so you must be a strong communicator, have excellent leadership skills and be successful at driving H&S strategies, policies and procedures across live sites.
A background in the construction industry is essential. Previous knowledge of audits is desirable.

Over this companies' life span they have developed an enviable reputation and, due to on-going works, they are now looking for a Senior Site Engineer to join their ranks.

Your new roleYour new role will be as a senior site engineer on a £36m housing project. You will be responsible with all aspects of engineering duties including setting out, managerial responsibilities, quality control, supervising subcontractors, HSEQ, progress reporting, measuring / ordering materials, managing labour and reporting to the Contracts Manager.

As you are taking a senior role within the project you will be expected to monitor and supervise work and ensure proper practice is taking place. You will be essential in the successful completion of this project, and you will work alongside the site manager to achieve project success.


What you'll need to succeedPrevious site engineering experience and a qualification in a construction related field will be essential for this role. Experience within the build sector and previous civil projects will be highly desirable.
Technical knowledge of setting out duties as well as interpreting architectural drawings and then practically applying these drawings to the day-to-day operations on site will be required. Attention to detail will help you to ensure the project is completed to an excellent standard. Proficient time management and organisational skills will help you day to day. You must have a valid CSCS / SMSTS card in order to be considered.

Due to continued success and a further increase in company growth, a position is now available for a Senior / Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team.
Your new roleWithin your new role you will manage the cost of projects worth up to £20m. You will be responsible for providing Quantity Surveyor functions including commercial transactions, commercial reporting and cash flow management on allocation projects. You will work within an integral part of the business, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and working closely with the Operational Team, ensuring projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
You will be office based 4 days a week and required on site at least once a week.
What you'll need to succeedYou will be a degree-educated Quantity Surveyor, and must have at least 5-10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor. Experience of working on civil projects would be an advantage. You will be computer-literate, and will have experience of using relevant software. You will be ambitious, commercially astute, and keen to establish yourself as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a growing main contractor who will be offering you a long-term career.

With impressive builds and refurbishments across a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, public sector, leisure, residential, hospitality, this contractor now has a requirement for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing construction team and be responsible for aiding with all front end activities.
Your new role :Reporting to the construction Manager and working closely with the Operational Team you will be responsible for the cost estimating, tendering, front end pre start of a variety of projects as well as providing regular updates on the performance of on-going projects valuing up to £10mil.
As the Quantity Surveyor your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out the day to day administration of the commercial and financial aspects of projects bids
• Close liaison with the Project Management Team(s)
• Aiding of bid submissions
• Preparing Cost and Value reporting
• Manage procurement including labour, plant, materials and subcontract
• Contributing to monthly board reports via the construction Manager
• Cost control
• Subcontract management enquiries/procurement and liaison

What you'll need to succeed :In order to be successful in this role, you will have prior experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor at pre construction stage for a construction company or have solid experience and be ready to take a step into a more senior role. This role would require you to have strong negotiation skills to work with subcontractors and clients to reach positive commercial terms and minimise any commercial risks to the business. You must have good technical knowledge and skills in the construction sector and a good knowledge of commonly used contracts and frameworks. Ideally, you will hold a formal qualification in quantity surveying at degree level. However, candidates will be considered with HND/ HNC qualifications and relevant experience.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

• A degree/HND or equivalent in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or other construction related subject or substantial previous experience in a similar position
• A commercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of performance
• A proactive person with a disposition to take action pre-emptively to manage risk and opportunity
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Results driven with the capability of working on their own initiative
• Ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently
• High attention to detail
