Duties of the Advanced MRI Technologist include, but are not limited to:

• Performs MRI imaging of the spine, head and neck studies utilizing specialized sequences to visualize the anatomy and pathology necessary for diagnosis.
• Performs MRI imaging of the peripheral and visceral vessels through MR Angiography of the abdominal systems and extremities. These MR angiographic studies include renal, hepatic, mesenteric, aortic, femoral, etc. The exams involve the use of highly sophisticated equipment, such as pressure injectors and 3D Reconstruction Software.
• Required to maintain competence in Venipuncture and refer to the Imaging service procedure manual for guidelines on Administration of Contrast Media After-Hours, Guidelines for Power Injection of Contrast Media, Use of Gadolinium and iodinated contrast within the MRI Section and policy for use of Contrast Media.

• Meets the requirements set forth in Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist Qualification standards; "Maintenance of an American Registry in Radiologic Technology, accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology."
• Prepares contrast materials that are used in MRI, MR Angiography, and other exams. Improper use or administration of the contrast materials run the risk of patient mortality and, therefore, it is essential that a thorough understanding of the contrast material usage is possessed by those who prepare it.
• Responsible to provide a teamwork environment with Radiologists, other technologists, and all other personnel that they are interacting with daily to facilitate pertinent information to ensure the success of the MRI Section.
• Practices MRI Safety to reduce injury to patients, staff, and self. This is achieved using patient screening and maintaining knowledge of MRI Safety practices, keeping abreast of new technology in MR Safety. Film badges are worn by the technologists in compliance with radiation regulations.
• Independently performs standard examinations. Confers with radiologists to establish requirements of examinations and determines optional factors, etc. to satisfy additional requests to determine the diagnostic results.

James A Haley TAMPA VAMC is looking to fill multiple LPMHC Program Coordinator positions at two of their facilities: Temple Terrace outpatient clinic and Tampa Main Campus hospital.

LPMHC Program Coordinators are administratively responsible for a clinical program and provide treatment to patients in a major specialty. They manage the daily operations of the program, develop policies and procedures, and prepare reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use. They will clinically supervise unlicensed graduate interns/LPMHCs and may administratively manage any employees assigned to their program.

• Provides specialized primary, secondary and tertiary clinical nursing intervention services of an advanced nature, requiring critical thinking skills through home, hospital/clinic, office and telephone contact with military personnel and their families IAW program requirements and accepted standards of professional conduct.
• Responsible for risk screening of the installation's expectant parents and parents of birth to three-year-old children, engagement of high risk for maltreatment families in prevention services, case management activities occurring from initial contact/referral through case closure.
• Provides professional nursing advisory services to other health care professionals, installation personnel, and community agencies, advancing initiatives that enhance resiliency and decrease maltreatment in military families who are expectant and/or have birth to three-year-old children.
• Develops and manages the NPSP home based maternal/child maltreatment prevention program for families expecting a child, and/or with children ages birth to three years.
• Determines appropriate services for atypical, complex, high risk client and family situations.

• Performs nursing care to meet patient needs; learns appropriate policy and guidance.
• Able to carry out objective of the nursing program by following guidelines to meet and maintain program requirements.
• Recognizes the patient's autonomy and promotes independence by means of respect, limit setting and individualized treatment.
• Complies with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for pretreatment/cleaning Reusable Medical Devices (RMD) in applicable patient care setting.
• Administers nursing care to patients, such as baths or showers, enemas, treatments, and minor dressing changes, as assigned.
• Prepares patient for diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures.
• Prepares and administers prescribed medications.
• Identifies, reports, and documents medication errors/discrepancies, reactions, and side effects immediately, according to policy and procedure.
• Observes for physical and/or emotional changes in patient's health condition, which may include prescribed medications/treatments, to promptly and accurately documenting identified changes, and reporting any deviations from normal to RN/HCP.
• Participates in structured activities based on patient care needs.

  Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
  Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
  Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
