PART TIME (33 Hours Per Week) Pharmacy Technician (West Haven Inpatient Pharmacy) GS-0661-07

Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, or Supervisory Pharmacy Technician, pharmacy technicians perform routine pharmacy functions including receiving prescriptions from patients in writing or electronically from physicians. Pharmacy technicians prepare prescriptions by counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing the medication if necessary. Pharmacy technicians maintain patient profiles, prepare insurance claim forms, stock, and take inventory of medications. The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (MRI) position is assigned to the West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System, Imaging Service. Technicians at this level are fully credentialed and functional as an MRI technologist with varying assignments and can perform routine to complex and specialized studies, with and without administration of contrast materials, as prescribed by practitioners.

The practitioner must have specific specialized knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and how it relates to the soft tissues and vessels of the human body. The technologist must also have a specialized knowledge in the radiofrequency coils (transmit/receive) required for each specific anatomical area to be imaged. The incumbent requires knowledge of contrast media, power injectors, and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).

Duties of the DRT (MRI) Technologist include, but not limited to the following:

• Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) credentialing as required. Maintains current Talent Management System (TMS) training as required.

• Serves as the Laboratory Safety Officer for all sections of the clinical and anatomic pathology laboratories, updating safety manuals, chemical hygiene plans, and safety in-service training programs. Assures that all safety procedures and protocols meet CAP, JCAHO and OSHA requirements.

Understand and apply local and Health Centre's policies for substance misuse and addictive behaviors, referring patients when appropriate. Deliver health promotion opportunities as they arise. Secondary Responsibilities Assist in developing and reviewing audit protocols and processes, utilising the audit cycle effectively. Collaborate with the partners and Lead Practice Nurse to develop, review, and implement nursing protocols. Support nursing team members, providing guidance, conducting appraisals, and identifying training needs. Engage in local initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery. Support shared learning within the Health Centre to improve patient outcomes. Regularly review clinical practices, responding to national policies and initiatives as appropriate. Participate in significant and near-miss event reviews, using root cause analysis (RCA). Assist the Lead Practice Nurse in Coordinating the nursing rota to ensure adequate staffing to meet patient needs. Collaborate with the partners and Lead Practice Nurse to Lead planning and implementation of changes within the nursing team to improve service provision. Support Health Centre's team members in reviewing and implementing policies and protocols, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Fitzrovia CDC also specializes in supporting Claustrophobic patients in their MRI Journey, with the use of our Open MRI scanners so ensuring their experience is smooth from the moment they walk in the door is key What you are responsible for: Welcoming patients in a professional, courteous manner, coordinating their arrival through to departure Dealing with telephone and direct enquiries in a prompt and effective manner, ensuring the provision of information and prioritisation of queries as appropriate Booking clinically validated appointments on the internal system Ensuring all payments are invoiced promptly and accurately and that payments are taken on the day Tracking and distributing imaging data and reports as required Utilising relevant IT systems to support the delivery of a high-quality imaging service Assist with monthly reports Complying with ISO standards, respecting and protecting confidentiality Reporting any incidents, feedback or complaints effectively Ensuring patient and customer focus is central to the commercial success of the business. Job Summary: Accountable to Therapies Manager To contribute to the School Aged team in developing, testing out and implementing new ways of working. To ensure that the service provided is integrated (within the relevant multi/uni disciplinary care pathways), evidence based and delivered in accordance with care pathways/protocols and responsive to the needs of the local population. To assess, diagnose, manage and evaluate outcomes for children and young people presenting with a range of speech, language, communication difficulties some of which may be highly complex. The post holder will hold an area of special interest within the profile of the clinical caseload. To develop, implement and evaluate specialist teaching packages within the clinical caseload.
