Duties:

• Examines slides microscopically and accepts or rejects them on the basis of proper staining reactions. The incumbent troubleshoots major problems with special staining procedures, implement changes, trains and monitors compliance by the histopathology staff.
• Prepares all stains and chemical solutions with a competent, practical knowledge of chemistry. This Crisis Response Team and Hospital at Home Senior Discharge Coordinator, Health and Social Care Practitioner role will work in the community based with Crisis Response Team (part of Manchester Community Response), assisting registered professionals (Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Pharmacists and Social Workers).

As part of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the Crisis Response Team to deliver urgent health and social care to people in crisis and at risk of hospitalisation. They will also support the Hospital at Home service to reduce length of stay in hospital and provide care for patients within their own home.


The successful candidate will be responsible for junior members of staff, undertaking informal and formal support and supervision. The post holder
will be required to actively participate in new initiatives and further changes intended to improve service delivery.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to work within our Gynaecology Division as Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinators to provide a comprehensive, professional and effective administrative service and to supervisor and monitor the staff within their team. These roles are crucial in looking after our patients from when they are initially referred to our Service by working closely with our Medical and Nursing Teams, until their treatment with us is concluded.

Based in the Oncology & Colposcopy clinical team, the post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment &/or discharge.

The post holder will be required to:
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as they will need to liaise with staff at all levels. Work well as part of a larger team as well as have the ability to work autonomously, be able to multi-task and be flexible in their approach..
• Engage and communicate with patients on a daily basis regarding their care with us and the next steps in their pathway.
• Demonstrate attention to detail; exceptional organisational skills and be able to manage changing priorities as they arise, in a calm and professional manner to ensure the smooth running and efficient service.
• Have a good working knowledge of MS software, data collection skills.
• Have previous knowledge of working in a relevant hospital or administrative based role and have an understanding of clinical pathways and medical terminology and the willingness and enthusiasm to learn.
