Supervisory Medical Supply Technician duties includes but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for assisting the Chief, Sterile Processing Services (SPS), in oversight of all operational and administrative activities of the service.

• Responsible for assuring that all patients have a complete, accurate, and timely record of their medical care at the facility. Also must assure that such information is appropriately stored and readily available for the provision of medical services to the patients.
• Incumbent is responsible for leading the automation of all health information systems. Working closely with Information Technology (IT) and Clinical Informatics, the incumbent must guide the automation of health record documentation, health record tracking, and physician incomplete record tracking. The incumbent also must support the information security program and manage much of the patient information database within Vista. Incumbent will work with a variety of hardware and software.
• The CHIM at this level has the full complement of HIM supervisory responsibility including coding, file room, scanning, release of information, and transcription and which consists of a mixture of HT38 (675 and 669) and T5 positions. The incumbent oversees the facility Records Manager / File room Supervisor. Incumbent is responsible for directing the operations of all personnel working within the Health Information program and is regularly involved in labor relations and budget management. Performs the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised.
• Incumbent is directly responsible to the Chief, Health Administration Service, who gives general objectives. Incumbent exercises independent judgment in carrying out duties and responsibilities and has complete authority to plan, design and direct the HIM program; recommendations and/or technical decisions made by employee are not reviewed. Employee operates within context of overall agency policy and agency goals. Supervision is performed in relation to outcome and accomplishment to policy requirements.

To undertake the operational and administrative functions this will include: 1. Provide comprehensive PA support to the Chief Pharmacist including word processing documents, correspondence, reports as required for the assisting them with the processing of documents that she/he produces filing,photocopying and the composition of letters.2. Provide a full diary management service - booking meetings organising travel and preparing complex travel itineraries.3. Being first contact for the Chief Pharmacist and taking autonomous action asappropriate.4. Manage all incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring that urgent correspondence andmessages are given priority.5. Produce PowerPoint presentations and overheads for presentations.6. Update and maintain mailing for distributing information and contact details.7. Maintain an effective and secure filing system.8.
