About the School:
Lanark Grammar School is one of 17 secondary schools throughout South Lanarkshire Council serving a very broad catchment area within Clydesdale. We are very proud to be part of the Clydesdale locality and work in increasingly close partnership with Biggar, Carluke and Lesmahagow High Schools. In addition to the students who live close to or in the town of Lanark, we have a strong appreciation for our countryside connections and the large number of our students who live in the wider Clydesdale area and use school transport to access education. We are also immensely proud of our integrated Additional Support Needs provision within the school, supporting over 10% of our student population through a range of specialist provisions.
The school strives to give all of our pupils the best educational experiences possible through the quality of teaching and learning; support for pupils; the range of courses and learning opportunities available to suit individual needs; and through an extensive array of extra-curricular activities. The staff of the school are highly committed and do all that they can to support each and every pupil responding to their individual and collective needs.
Partnership with parents is very important to us and we shall take every opportunity to engage with parents to assist us in supporting their children. When such a partnership exists it enables all of those involved to work collaboratively with a sense of shared commitment and a desire to provide support and direction of the highest quality. Our Parent Council is a key driver in our continued improvement and they meet on a monthly basis throughout the school session. Our Parent Council Chair, Virginia Ratcliffe, can be contacted through the school office.
