JOB PURPOSE The post holder will be responsible for the safe delivery of direct and indirect care and associated source data collection for clinical research studies undertaken in the department. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans for clinical trials participants. Additionally, they will provide patient centred care and support clinical trial participants focusing on high quality patient experience. The post holder will be involved in raising awareness and embedding research within LTHT and offering people opportunities to take part in research as part of their standard care pathway. They will act as a member of the multidisciplinary team, advising and supporting the clinical teams with research related matters and will also maintain their clinical skills. Flexible Working Pattern may be required to support the development of clinical trial services at weekends or evenings that best suit the needs of the research speciality teams and trial participants. Identify, screen and recruit participants into research studies according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and where necessary, facilitate a participants withdrawal from a study. Maintain effective written and verbal communications with research participants, relatives and other members of the multidisciplinary/ research team to ensure research participant needs are met and appropriate information is shared and documented, including on-going process of informed consent. Have an overall awareness of potential risks within the clinical area assessing these at all times (including patient behaviours and working environment) to ensure the health and safety of research participants, visitors and staff and compliance with related legislation and guidelines. Act as the research participants advocate and uphold the quality of each study at all times; this will include assessment, planning and evaluation of individualised care plans as per study protocol. Report adverse events and serious adverse events in accordance with the Trust SOPs and study protocols in a timely and effective manner with reference to the Senior Research Nurse/Midwife/AHP and Principal Investigator. Resolve complaints timeously at a local level and escalate as appropriate. Be responsible for accurate and secure data collection, storage and entry in to case report forms (both paper and electronic) that meet Data Protection Act requirements, including secure backup of study data, as per information governance and study specific guidance. Participate in facilitating clinical trial monitoring in order to meet the safety, integrity and governance requirements of each study. Where relevant, ensure that the processing and storage of human biological samples meets the necessary requirements of the Human Tissue Act, local SOPs and research protocol so that safe handling and quality is assured. Order and maintain trial specific supplies according to study protocols, procedures and regulations and level of recruitment ensuring that resources are used appropriately and efficiently at all times. Participate in the audit and evaluation of clinical practice in the interests of promoting and improving quality care through action on findings. JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY Pathology Discipline Training Managers provide best practice advice and training management support within a designated area reporting into Service Managers/Operational Leads. Their job purpose is to: Manage all formal pre-registration and post-registration training within the department liaising with other staff as appropriate. Act as the focal point for all issues relating to training and development within the specialty. Facilitate the dissemination of training, competency assessment and development principles and promote a culture of training development amongst staff. Support and promote a continued professional development (CPD) programme within the department. Support compliance against Trust mandatory training targets, receive and distribute Trust training reports across their Pathology specialty including competency performance. Actively contribute towards the general management and development of the department within nationally accepted standards (such as UKAS). Ensure all relevant documentation meets the appropriate standards of all accreditation and professional bodies on all hospital sites within Pathology at LTHT. Maintains the registered training status of the department with the appropriate professional bodies. Develop and promote training management systems within the department and ensure that they are up to date and staff training competencies are recorded accurately, verified and signed off in a timely manner and monitor progress against agreed KPIs. To regularly carry out learning needs analysis to identifying gaps in skills and competencies and identify relevant training to support future planning of services Through participation in the Pathology Training & Development Group provide an effective communication channel between Pathology and their specialty department. Raise awareness and promote training improvement activities and career opportunities within Pathology and their department. Year 6 Teacher role - January to July 2025

An outstanding North Leeds Primary School is looking for a Year 6/KS2 Teacher from January 2025. The role is initially for two terms up to July with the possibility of becoming a permanent post.
You will be a Primary Teacher who aims to be an outstanding practitioner and who would like to be part of the exciting, challenging and rewarding journey to further develop and build on the practice the school currently employs. JOB SUMMARY: To lead on the development and maintenance of quality assured practice placements for non-medical healthcare students undertaking educational training within the Leeds placement circuit, in line with NMC, HCPC, Health Education England quality assurance framework. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & AREAS RESPONSIBILITY: To be an expert resource for colleagues seeking advice and guidance on issues relating to practice learning. Lead on the design and implementation of quality monitoring processes in collaboration with the education and placement providers. Lead locally in support of the strategic direction of nationally and locally driven quality assurance methodology in relation to practice learning. Lead locally on the implementation of the quality assurance national requirements which impact on practice learning. Create robust communication networks for practice learning issues to be raised between NHS and non-NHS service providers, Higher and Further education and Health Education England as appropriate. Promote effective partnership working with stakeholders Identify and create opportunities for practice learning within a multi-professional environment that meets the needs of the learning outcomes of the professions involved. Further develop existing placements and create new and innovative opportunities for students. Increase the number of quality learning opportunities within the community, mental health and primary care setting. Work with HEI and service providers to ensure the number of mentors/assessors/practice supervisors across the healthcare community is sufficient and appropriately prepared in terms of mentor updates, sign-off mentors, and triennial review, to support the numbers of students in practice now and in the future. Advise the development of effective support systems for mentors/assessors/practice supervisors. Advise and support the development and implementation of new models of placement learning.
