We are committed to developing and deploying an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) for Acute Hospital Alliance ( Royal United Hospital - Bath, Great Western Hospital , Swindon and Salisbury NHS Trust, and are excited to announce secondment or fixed term contract opportunities to join the programme as an EPR Workstream Lead.

We are looking for a team of people with either AHA - specific organisational knowledge and experience, or people with previous experience of implementing an EPR. Most important is your enthusiasm for digital, and you will receive the technical training required to be successful in your role. A team with a balance of EPR implementation experience and AHA(GWH, SFT and RUH) knowledge is the key to the programme's success.

We are recruiting for Workstream Leads across key areas including: Clinical Documentation, Patient Administration (outpatients/inpatients), Maternity , Reporting, Order Comms, EPMA, Clinical Documentation and many more- please see JD.

The Workstream Lead will be responsible for the delivery of the workstream, playing a key role in the implementation of the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system across Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire Acute Healthcare Alliance. We are seeking an individual from a clinical (Nursing / Medical / AHP) or operational/Technical background with experience in managing a complex body of work, operational insight, and programme management skills to join our team.

The postholder will ensure appropriate planning and support is in place to enable successful service transition, drive operational change whilst removing unwarranted variation across the 3 organisations. This includes providing practical support to both the wider Implementation Team and clinical teams across the Trusts and sharing functionality and anticipated configuration of the new EPR and how operational processes could align. There will be an expectation to drive an ongoing cycle of process improvement, continually identifying areas of opportunity for development and work with appropriate teams to implement system improvement. The postholder will also work closely with the Local workstream leads and with senior clinical teams to ensure alignment of goals and priorities to achieve successful implementation of the new EPR, working as a liaison between clinical and operational service workstreams, various IT Teams and the system suppliers – Oracle Health and 3rdParty.

• Leading a central workstream in developing the processes and system design for their agreed area of scope.
• Coordinating workstream activities to ensure alignment across the 3 sites and other workstreams, identifying interdependencies and assigning mitigating plans where appropriate/required to ensure the plan remains on course for delivery within the agreed timeframe.
• Ensuring systems and processes of the new EPR and integrated care systems are embedded into operational and clinical This will require the postholder to have a detailed understanding of service requirements, benefits realisation opportunities afforded by the new EPR and be able to contribute to local and AHA policy and protocol development to ensure both service and implementation needs are met.
• Development of AHA Standard Operating Procedures and policies relating to the safe and accurate implementation of the new EPR.
• Influencing leadership at all levels to actively promote engagement around the Programme, utilising appropriate change tools.

This role will lead the Clinical Skills Education, Resuscitation, Preceptorship, TNA and OSCE training teams and will provide support to Medical Post and Undergraduate teams.

The post holder will be responsible for managing and leading organisational compliance with the competency levels required, to deliver safe and effective care and best practice standards.

You will lead Preceptorship, Resuscitation, Clinical Skills and transformational CPD, amongst other educational initiatives, to ensure outcomes are met, and staff are developed to an optimum standard to deliver high quality patient care.

The post holder will provide high quality and up to date education and training to our non-medical workforce, working with Divisional Leads, Deputy Chief Nurses, Midwifery, Allied Health Professionals and Healthcare Scientists leads, to support and lead on themes within the respective workforce strategies eg Nursing & Midwifery Strategy and quality improvement initiatives identified through the Improving Together Programme to promote innovation and development of the professions.

Applicants are invited to apply for a Clinical Fellow Clinical Fellow ST4+ in Emergency Medicine and MDT Education/Simulation . The Post is from August 2024 for a fixed term period of 12 months.

This is an established role within the Emergency Department. It encompasses education of the whole multidisciplinary team alongside the team of two clinical nurse educators.

Funding will be provided to successful candidates to complete a postgraduate certificate in medical education at the university of Bristolhttp://www.bristol.ac.uk/tlhp/postgraduate-certificate/. This will be tied into successful completion of the 1 year term of the contract. Other equivalent studies will be considered as alternatives and funded to the same amount.

The Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre sees approximately 130,000 attendances per year with a separate Pediatric Emergency Department.

The department has a 5-bay resuscitation area, a 13-bay majors trolly area, an ambulatory majors area, a minor theatre a plaster room and an 8 bedded observation area. The department is located adjacent to Radiology. Recently the integrated front door project has delivered a newbuild Urgent treatment centre. Building is underway to deliver a new Emergency Department and Children’s Emergency Unit in 2024.



60% of the post will be Emergency Medicine clinical care allowing an opportunity for doctors wanting to gain experience and responsibility in not just managing patients but managing a busy department.

We are a busy DGH Emergency Department that sees a wide variety of presentations (in both adult and paediatric). We deal with medical, surgical, orthopaedic, paediatric and trauma patients. These patients can present and be assessed in resus, majors, minors or paediatric ED.

There may also be opportunities to peruse simulation within the wider deanery and multiagency level with strong links to Severn Deanery and local 999 services and search and rescue.
