This year, Volvo launched their ‘Women in HGV’ initiative to bust the myth that the automotive sector is just for men and have seen great results in welcoming more women into the business. Start dates are from May to August 2024 What you’ll be learning. A Heavy Vehicle Service Technician will inspect, maintain, and repair large vehicles weighing 3.5 tonnes and over such as HGV's and buses. • Servicing – carrying out inspections. • Maintenance – general and preventative maintenance. • Repairing – repairing/replacing parts. • Diagnostics – diagnosing faults in the onboard systems. You will gain a full understanding of the importance of 6-week checks, Operators (O) licence’s and legal obligations and as a technician apprentice, you will receive training to the manufacturer and DVSAs standard. Training delivery. In this programme, all aspects of heavy vehicle technology are embedded in this dedicated programme and involves a mix of academic learning and on-the-job training. • Practical learning in the workplace, shadowing your mentor and carrying out the work while being supervised. • Online studies, completing workbooks and job cards, attending online sessions and virtual classes with your Development Coach, all done during your working day. • Attending block release to the Volvo Training Academy in Derby, DE21 7BH every 2 months. All costs of your hotel food and accommodation plus all travel arrangements are covered by WW Truck & Bus. Training is delivered in the workplace and on block release to Remit’s Automotive Academy in Derby. There are a total of 18 x 1 week blocks over the 32 month programme. The costs of hotel accommodation, food and travel are met by the employer and there will be no cost to you. You will also receive 1-2-1 support from your Development Coach to help you achieve: • IMI Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3 • Functional Skills Level 2 in English & Maths (if required)

As an apprentice, you will learn how to repair and sometimes replace, damaged bodywork using specialist techniques with traditional tools and the latest equipment. • Assessing a vehicle to establish the extent of damage • Based on the initial assessment, deciding whether to repair or replace bodywork • Removing and refitting damaged panels • Repairing damaged bodywork using traditional dolly and hammer or more modern techniques • Repairing small dents, holes, or corroded areas using a compound filler A certain amount of administration and customer interaction is also required: • Keeping a record of work carried out and time taken • Liaising with the customer or insurance company • Providing quotations and estimationsTraining to be Provided

This is a Vehicle Damage Panel Apprenticeship programme, delivered by Remit Group. Awarding Body: Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Training is delivered in the workplace and on block release at the Remit Automotive Academy in Derby. This means you will be required to stay in a hotel for 12 separate weeks (Mon – Fri) over the duration of the programme, which equals 4 weeks per year. All associated costs for training are met by the employer and there will be no cost to you. You will also be assigned a dedicated Development Coach who will visit you every 4-6 weeks either in the workplace or remotely via Microsoft Teams, giving 1-2-1 advice and guidance to help you achieve the following IMI qualifications: • Vehicle Damage Panel Technician Level 3 • Functional Skills Level 2 in English & Maths (if required)

As Paint Technician, we know there’s no better feeling than seeing a customer's vehicle at the front of the workshop, waiting for them to collect it – it is what our business is built on. • Preparing paint spraying equipment • Preparing the bodywork of the vehicle. • Mix paint by eye or using computer technology to ensure the best color match • Applying several coats to the car, including primers, colors, and protective finishes. • Solving paint application problems; defects, causes and cures • Maintaining and cleaning equipment. • Storing paints in the correct conditions. A certain amount of administration and customer interaction is also required: • Keeping a record of work carried out and time taken • Liaising with the customer or insurance company • Providing quotations and estimations As part of the service a Bodyshop offers, you may also carry out valeting, to ensure the vehicles look as good as new. • Wash down the outside of the car to remove dirt and mud • Polish the windows, wheels, door handles, and mirrorsTraining to be Provided

You will be an essential contact with Scania's Workshop Teams and external customers. You will need to build rapport with peers and customers, to provide excellent service.
