What does a live-in carer do?
As a professional live-in carer in the South West of England, you’ll provide personalised care that enables clients to stay in their own homes. We offer flexible rota patterns to help you balance work and personal life, and we welcome carers with at least six months of professional experience. You’ll stay with your client during your chosen rota pattern, caring for one person (or sometimes a couple) and following a tailored care plan. Community: Carry out measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, urinalysis, phlebotomy, wound/ pressure area care, assisting in Doppler assessments and certain injections/ diabetes management and catheterisation when deemed competent on a known patient. To assist with ordering clinical supplies and equipment to ensure stock is maintained. The post holder will be expected to travel around Plymouth in the course of their duties as appropriate. To undertake and be competent in breakaway training. Shift work including night shifts if working in an inpatient -based scenario. JOB PURPOSE The post holder isresponsible for the delivery of high-quality public health nursing services for Children Young People & Families (CYP&F) through the management and deployment of resources within a defined budget. About the role:

This role is home-based and is open to applicants living in Devon and Cornwall who have access to an appropriately confidential space in which to work. Regular travel will be required both to our office in Plymouth & throughout Devon and Cornwall. Usual working hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, however there may be an occasional need to work outside core hours to meet the demands of the role.

As an Anti-Social Behaviour Caseworker you will:

• Develop, deliver, and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by ongoing and persistent Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), who accept ongoing support. Support will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users
• Facilitate access to additional services, helping service users build healthy coping mechanisms and providing practical support and information
• Using a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential records and contributing to monitoring information including the collection of outcomes
• Deliver awareness raising sessions on the impact of ASB to partner agencies and community groups and participating in community events

You will need:

• An understanding of the impact of ASB and crimes such domestic abuse, sexual violence and hate crime on victims
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Experience of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency

The post holder will assist registered staff within the Complex Needs team at harbour Drug and alcohol services, working under supervision, in providing support in the community for people experincing mental health and co-existing substance misues issues. The post holder will work alongside the other services and staff working with people that live complex lives in the community, where they will manage a caseload under supervision from a registered member of staff. The aim is to promote recovery from addiction and improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for individuals, linking them in with Community activities and wider supports which include improving access to activities, meaningful employment, and training. Post holder works with special care dentists treating patients with special needs mostlyhaving treatment under conscious sedation. Post holder also provides Dental Sedation Nursing support to all Dentists carrying out Dental Sedation, including Oral Surgery. Post holder has GDC registration and holds the NEBDN certificate in conscious sedationand thereby acts as the second appropriately trained person working with the dentist in line with the British Dental association patient safety guidelines Post holder requires knowledge of complex medical, physical and mental health problems,which has been gained through a minimum of 2 years experience Post holder will be required to monitor sedated patients during both treatment andrecovery, and needs to recognise and assist with medical emergencies. Post holder will discharge patients with the dentists agreement, and be responsible forgiving relevant post operative instructions and care To assist all operators in all chair side assisting. To support and care for patients duringprocedures using conscious sedation. Follows all sedation related local policies and SOPs, including the correct preparation ofequipment and attends local drawing up drugs training with sedation lead. Records clinical observations on patients sedation record Carries out performance checks and daily maintenance on specialist equipment i.e. PulseOximeter, Oxygen cylinders, Scavenger unit and Relative analgesia machine to sure the equipment is ready for use and if faulty to remove from use and report to the relevant technician.
