This is a Full-time role with a salary of £30,000.00 to £32,000.00 depending on experience. Role Summary As the Stop Smoking Service Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of empowering individuals to lead healthier, smoke-free lives. This dynamic role involves coordinating and delivering innovative smoking cessation programs and working closely with clients to provide personalised support and guidance. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Smokefree Blackburn with Darwen service and will lead on overall service delivery. You'll also collaborate with healthcare professionals and community partners, driving engagement and ensuring the highest standards of care. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to demonstrate their broad health and wellbeing knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of a new and exciting stop smoking service in Blackburn and Darwin. Main Duties and Responsibilities Ensure that all targets, performance measures, and outcomes are achieved successfully for the Blackburn with Darwen Stop Smoking Service. Organise and coordinate project delivery and awareness events. Lead the data collection and reporting across to commissioners on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as required. Research, locate, set up and review new clinic opportunities. Work closely, and develop sustainable relationships with local partners, including Pharmacies, GPs, secondary care providers and workplaces in the development, promotion and delivery of the community Stop Smoking service. Liaise with the relevant authorities to obtain permission and consent for the delivery of marketing campaigns and events. Gather information on all referrals made to the service and follow up contacts accordingly. Undertake random spot checks in various clinics to ensure that service quality standards are maintained e.g. relevant literature, display materials, NRT products and completed Monitoring Forms. Co-ordinate the recruitment and training of staff. Ensure that local residents interested in services but without face-to-face professional help, can access the service easily. Ensure that printed materials providing information and advice on how to quit smoking is also made available to residents, including those who do not speak English as a first language. Co-ordinate the provision of VBA (Very Brief Advice) training to partners Encourage service users and other stakeholders to be involved in the design, ongoing improvement and evaluation of services Co-ordinate workforce learning and development across the service and wider treatment system. Co-ordinate ongoing support, guidance, and training for GPs and community pharmacies who deliver stop smoking services in Blackburn and Darwen. Investigate, report, and resolve all client queries and complaints. Work flexibly across the whole service, including late working, weekends as required. Proactively maintain own professional knowledge, development and practice, and contribute effectively to management meetings and supervision. Work within professional boundaries, maintaining safety and appropriate confidentiality at all times. Work flexibly within the organisation to undertake such other reasonable duties and responsibilities, at any location within reasonable daily travel from your main place of work. Work flexibly across the whole service, including late working, weekends as required. Produce and disseminate information in a variety of ways e.g., newsletters, reports, presentations, journals, promotion at conferences and workshops. Explain to clients the principles of Stop Smoking so that they can make an informed choice regarding their treatment. Motivate and empower clients to make behaviour changes. Deliver a client-led treatment plan in concordance with national and local guidelines, effectively and professionally. This will include CO monitoring, the completion of accurate data to comply with NICE guidelines, and a comprehensive account of weekly interventions. Deliver telephone and face-to-face support for clients. Contribute to local and regional networks to represent, promote, and develop the service. To capture and collate client feedback, success stories and photographs with the appropriate consent for the service promotion To assist with carrying out the external quality control testing all devices and ensuring that all equipment is appropriately calibrated within timescales. To ensure that the Quality standards are maintained within the service. Be the lead for the Blackburn with Darwen SmokeFree Alliance as well as the Lancashire & South Cumbria Strategic Group.
