The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between up to £30,000 p/a.

District Valuer Services (DVS) provides professional property services across the public sector, including to private and third sector clients in delivering public services and functions of a public nature. Our clients include the Central, Local and Devolved Government, Health and Transport.

This role sits within the Transport Sector, where we work with major infrastructure providers including National Highways, Transport Scotland, Welsh Assembly Government and HS2. Supporting in -

Monthly CVR preparation
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects.
Ensure all invoices submitted accurately and for certified value to ensure payments are received on time.

Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements.

About You

You will have experience of working as a Assistant Quantity Surveyor​ within the Construction industry and refurbishments it’s a distinct advantage if you have an understanding of the Social Housing planned works sector, which will give you the knowledge to hit the ground running and contribute effectively to the team. Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established Regional Contractor who have been operating for over 60 years and due to their continued success and growth they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

The role - Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be a key part of the team and will be working closely with the Senior QS & Commercial Manager to deliver both new build and refurbishment contracts across Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

They work on a variety on projects in the healthcare and education sectors with projects ranging in value from £1m - £15m and you will be responsible for the following duties (Including but not limited to):

• Cost reporting.
• Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client.
• Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement.
• Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
• Preparation of internal cost reporting measures.
• Maintaining quality control procedures.
• Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials.

Requirements as a Quantity Surveyor?

• Have a degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Main Contracting experience is preferable
• At least 2 years post graduate experience

Are you a Pre-Construction Manager with experience in the civil engineering industry? Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for a prominent civil engineering contractor based in Preston. Working across various multi-million £ Frameworks across the Northwest of England involved in Public realm, Water, Highways, Bridges, and more!

Pre-Construction Manager Key Accountabilities

• Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director
• Produce tender stage programmes working alongside the estimators,
• Create, manage, update and maintain an internal report detailing progress of all live projects
• Liaise with Project Teams to update programmes based on progress
• Develop and manage project programmes
• Where Compensation Events / Variations are identified, liaise with Project Teams and Commercial
• Provide high-level programme extracts to Project Teams for delivery and reporting purposes
• Contribute to discussion on phasing, approach and methodology of works on site
• Review post-contract performance of projects with the Project Team

Skills and Knowledge

• Appropriate industry qualification, e.g. HND or NVQ3.
• Industry background and experience working as a planner - ideally in excess of 5 years experience in a civil engineering environment (Highways and/or Rail preferably)
• Appropriate IT skills including the use of company software packages. (ASTA Powerproject mandatory, Primvera P6 preferred, Microsoft Project)
• Understanding and appreciation of the requirements on NEC3 / 4 Contracts
• Clear, concise oral and written communications, internally and externally
• Information management skills
• Ability to quickly digest information
• Ability to motivate and influence people
• Time management skills
