Title:

KBR is seeking a Project Manager for Instructional Systems Design (ISD) work supporting a government client in Orlando, FL. You will lead a team supporting analysis, curriculum design, and courseware development for trainers and simulators for surface vessels such as Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) and Frigates, equipment which interfaces with surface vessels, multi-platform systems, and potentially other Department of Defense (DoD) platforms or weapon systems. Your team will be part of and coordinate with a broader team which provides engineering, logistics management, and ISD support to DoD organizations developing trainers and simulators for military aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, naval surface vessels, and unmanned/semi-autonomous watercraft.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Visits to the government client facilities in Orlando, FL may be required multiple times per month.

• Travel to various client sites is expected approximately 8 times per year.

• Most duties may be performed remotely, but occasional in-person meetings with government clients and the team will be encouraged to strengthen relationships.  

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Lead a team of Instructional Systems Designers directly reporting to you.

• Supervise, train, mentor, listen to, and support your team.

In this role you will:

• Design and engineer enterprise WAN architecture.

About you and this role

You are a Civil Engineer with experience in structural design and analysis that will be a technical resource and a project civil discipline resource. You focus on safety in your designs and enjoy working on a team.

What we are looking for:

Blackbaud is looking for a Software Architect to join our team!  Software Architects at Blackbaud are influential to our business and local development community and carry over 12+ years of experience in design and development in a SaaS (or similar) model.

About the role:

As a Software Architect, you will drive continuous improvement of our systems and ensure that every application is implemented according to acceptable design, quality, performance, and security standards.  You will platform best practices, assist in design problems and formulate high-level estimates for analyses, project planning, and impact assessments.  As a Software Architect , you will also evaluate and recommend technology strategies where gaps exist, including performing proofs-of-concept as needed.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with product owners and other business partners to understand and refine business requirements that drive the architecture of our Commerce Platform teams

• Collaborate and drive vision of our Identity & Access and Customer Enablement strategy at Blackbaud.

• Evaluate legacy and current application's architecture and database design to make recommendations for improvements on design, performance, and quality

• Work closely with other engineering teams to document the detailed application design, implement appropriate design patterns and best practices, and create integration strategies between systems

• Keep up with new technologies and trends, and be able to apply them when appropriate to our architecture or processes.

• Collaborate with IT Security to ensure solutions comply with corporate and regulatory policies

• Perform code and design reviews as needed

What we’ll want you to have:

• 12+ years of experience in design and development of complex web-based, high transaction, high volume, distributed systems offered in a SaaS model or similar

• Formal skills with the following: Java, C#, .Net, web services, Microservice Architecture, ORM frameworks, RDBMS, NoSQL, Oracle, data stores, build/continuous integration, data modeling, database design, messaging middleware systems and protocols

• Experience with cloud technologies: Azure, GCP, AWS

• Knowledge of distributed architectures and design patterns, and best practices

• Ability to mentor team members with varying degrees of technical depth and breadth of knowledge
