An opportunity has been created for an Environmental Consultant with one of Sydney's most respected geo-environmental consultancies and a reputation built over 50 years. With a principal focus on the provision of contaminated land advisory, HAZMAT assessments and hydrology studies of both brownfield and greenfield construction and infrastructure developments.
As an employee owned and managed organisation, there is a dedication to the ongoing training and development through their in-house (EA Accredited) training program and through financial support towards ongoing tertiary education. Additionally, after a qualifying period there are opportunities to become an equity shareholder in the business.
Salary Range
$70,000 to $75,000 pa, plus super
Scope of the Role
Field activities would include (but not be limited to)
• Soil sampling with hand equipment, excavators and a variety of drill rigs;
• Groundwater development/purging and sampling, with a focus on low flow sampling techniques such as using peristaltic pumps;
• Hazardous ground gas/bulk ground gas monitoring using hand held landfill gas analysers; and
• Site inspections.
Office activities would include (but not be limited to)
• Data entry (of soil, groundwater results etc);
• Processing samples to be sent to the laboratory;
• Preparing for fieldwork;
• Setting up project files and ordering historical information;
• Providing input on reporting and proposal preparation as needed;
• In-house training program which include quarterly training evenings and dinners, and also more regular training via in-house workshops/presentations and external webinars (ACLCA, ALGA etc); and
• Financial support and paid time to pursue a Masters degree in the environmental field.
About You
• Degree in a relevant environmental field (Environmental Science or similar)
• 1 - 3 years of demonstrable experience in the field with a focus on sample collection, data entry and report writing
• A passion for the environment and a love of the outdoors
• Commitment to self improvement, learning and exceptional customer service
