About the role:

We are looking for a dedicated and qualified Information Professional to become part of our Library & Digital Support team, providing support for the School of Nursing & Midwifery and the School of Psychology.

You will provide information and digital literacy induction and teaching for students, support researchers and research students with open scholarship, and provide expert guidance, documentation and advice in specialist areas relevant to the disciplines.

This will involve attending school meetings, liaising with academic and research staff, identifying requirements, appraising and selecting information resources, and promoting engagement with Library and Academic Development (LAD) services, digital tools, and resources. 

You will have an advocacy and training role to support Open Research practice in the University.

Acting under the direction of the Senior Information Specialist you will be expected to contribute to cross directorate and cross institutional working groups, projects and initiatives, helping to inform the continuous development of services.

Based in the Charles Seale-Hayne Library you will support students at campus locations in Plymouth and Exeter as well as remotely online.

What we’re looking for:

You will have a qualification or accreditation in a relevant Library or information management field.  Attainment of a teaching qualification will be required if not already held within 2 years of appointment.

You will be someone with excellent communication, liaison and networking skills, who can work in partnership with your designate schools and across LAD services to gather intelligence, inform service development and share information effectively and inclusively.

You will be able to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate information and digital literacy training programmes.  You will have effective and practical approaches to delivering teaching and learning in face to face, blended and online scenarios, and the capability to adopt and use technology to enhance the experience. 

You will be capable of developing specialist skills and knowledge in your designated disciplines to support their schools’ activities, and develop quality guidance and documentation.  Experience of working in health or medical librarianship, and supporting systematic review practices, is desirable.

You will have a strong motivation for team leadership, and for coaching, developing and motivating staff.  A strong customer focus towards continuous improvement of the student experience is essential.

The position of IT Product Manager (Mobile and Fleet Technology) involves:

• Owning the successful delivery of fit-for-purpose Technology Solutions and applications to our diverse frontline workforce and the teams that directly support them including: ruggedised mobile devices and suite of frontline worker applications, vehicle telematics and vehicle safety solutions.
• Configuring, maintaining, supporting and continuously improving the IT systems and solutions ensuring that our people have the right tools to do their jobs.
• Leading the design of relevant system solutions and processes, carrying out system changes and implementing new capabilities aligned to our business transformation plan or project portfolio.
• Working with vendors, third parties and other internal teams to deliver optimal solutions to our frontline worker user group.

• High-level of technical proficiency, IT aptitude and a general interest in technology, systems and software.
• An ability to understand business operations and translate business requirements and opportunities into effective system solutions.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, well-organised individual to the post of Senior Information Adviser. You will be based at the Charles Seale-Hayne Library (at our City Centre Campus) and will report to a Service Operations Managers OR Information Specialist and work collaboratively to deliver a customer focused, cost effective and efficient library and digital support service.

What will you be doing?

• First and second line Library and IT Support e.g., resolution of face to face and remote enquiries.
• Delivering standard digital skills training to students and others e.g., Endnote basics, Microsoft basics etc. 
• Administrative duties in support of Information Specialists and collection development e.g., reading lists and order checks, book orders, design of content for promotion and displays, updating subject guides, etc. 
• Collecting & collating management statistics.
• Participating in stakeholder engagement/consultation (communications, surveys, focus groups etc).
• Designated projects as appropriate.

We are looking for a positive and pro-active individual with excellent customer service skills who is comfortable liaising with teammates, academics, professional service staff and external customers alike, with a flexible approach to working in a busy team.

As our Digital, Data and Technology Development Manager, you will oversee an efficient and innovate digital function for the Service, ensuring the effective development, delivery and support of new and enhanced, integrated, modern Digital Systems and Services. As a Subject Matter expert within the development field you will lead the team in providing analysis, design and development using the most appropriate technologies.

Key responsibilities as our Digital, Data and Technology Development Manager:


Leading an effective development team, providing clear strategy for the Service with regards to development with established and new technologies
To challenge the ways in which the Fire Service approaches the designs of new Services taking a continual improvement approach to developing Best Practice and process improvements
Line manage the Development team, ensuring that workloads are allocated and prioritised appropriately, work plans agreed, expectations are clearly communicated, and feedback is regularly provided
Actively lead relationship management key stakeholders ensuring effective, and efficient systems are in place and the required services are delivered on time and in full, by KPI’s and SLA’s
Lead and advise in the maintenance and continuous improvement of development technologies, processes and integration in collaboration with colleagues across the team and the wider Service
To own and continuously improve the Application Development process within DSFRS, adopting industry best practice where appropriate to maximise productivity
To act as a mentor and coach to the Development team, providing experience and SME across the DDAT Department, in order to propagate Best Practice in all areas of Service Development activity.

Strong team leadership, with the ability to effectively mentor and motivate others
Good knowledge and experience working knowledge of modern development tools and technologies, including but not limited to M365 and JAVA

The teams primary function is to supply senior managers, Commissioners and executives with the information they require to make sound business decisions that will improve the effectiveness of all services. In addition the team support various operational systems with system technical support plus provide operational and ad-hoc reporting for all staff. The Information Analyst will play a key role in the provision of an efficient information service to the Organisation and its Commissioners. This will focus primarily on the regular reporting and analysis of patient waiting times and clinical activity for national returns, commissioning datasets, contract monitoring and clinical quality indicators. This roles primary purpose is to enable LSW to extract, create, build and maintain timely data submissions to the NACR (National Audit of Cardiac Rehabilitation), in the required formats / methods. Data quality and integrity are key elements to this project and this post will support this in collaboration with the BI Team. The Information Analyst will be required to interrogate large, complex and sensitive datasets and undertake comprehensive analysis in response to both internal and external information requests and provide interpretation and narrative to ensure the message is understood. The Information Analyst will be responsible for maintaining data completeness and accuracy by identifying and analysing data anomalies and instigating corrective action. The post holder will be expected to prioritise their workload, interpret the relevant policies and use their own initiative to achieve expected work tasks and outcomes, within agreed deadlines for regular data processing, internal and external reporting. Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Post: To primarily support a project linked to NACR (National Audit of Cardiac Rehabilitation) in which we are required to create, build and support a reporting function to support Cardiovascular prevention and Rehabilitation services.
