• Performs a wide variety of technical support in a generalist capacity needed to administer the NAF Personnel Program, but work is focused primarily in the areas of recruitment and placement, background check initiation and tracking.

• Assists selectees during pre-employment process and regularly keeps the selectee and management appraised of status.
• Performs miscellaneous clerical work such as using office automation to type a variety of documents; compiles information from reports, creates and maintains folders and respond to applicant or management inquiries.

The Human Resources Specialist:

• Provide administrative and technical support in one or more of the core HR functional areas: Recruitment and Placement, Classification, Staffing, Processing, HR Policy.
• Serves as the Pathways Student Program Coordinator and provides technical guidance to managers regarding the Program, which includes Presidential Management Fellows (PMF), Recent Graduates, and Interns, and other student intern programs.
• Advise and assist management with respect to placement and employment matters for purpose of achieving maximum utilization of manpower and skills for appointment and position changes.
• Provide a full range of human resources service to NHTSA management and employees on a recurring basis and manage and operate all support actions that contribute to that purpose.

• Reviews plans submitted by field staff for Certified Conservation Planner status or re-certification; also provides recommendations to the ASTC (FO) for those seeking to attain or maintain this certification.
• Provides direction in the completion of program contracts, including review for accuracy; and verifies appropriate documentation on file which includes any requested contract modifications.
• Develops innovative techniques and recommends technical and administrative changes where needed to improve program quality and efficiency.
• Analyzes the quality of development and application of conservation plans within the area assigned.
• Reviews area office and/or field office staffs work for accuracy, completeness, appropriateness, and timeliness on an as-needed basis, provides informal OJT training while they are providing production assistance to the Field Office staff.

• Provides onsite technical assistance and training to field office personnel in the installation of a variety of conservation practices that may include parallel terraces, ponds, waterways, irrigation systems, agricultural waste management, etc.
• Based on field evaluations, determines the type, scope, and intensity of field investigations and surveys needed.
• Designs and supervises the design of complete engineering practices and structures involved in Agency programs.
• Determines engineering training needs for various field office personnel.
• Coordinates with engineering specialists in performing NRCS quality reviews of conservation practices.

• Assists the Area Resource Conservationist for Programs with managing the activities of financial assistance programs within the Area of responsibility.
• Runs reports and tracks agreement actions for completion. Informs field offices of actions, provides follow up and assistance with contract maintenance.
• Provide support for the program portion of the field office Quality Assurance reviews.
• Review application assessments and rankings to ensure consistency with program guidance.
• Assist Area Resource Conservationist for Programs with program contract modifications, cancellations, terminations and associated requirements.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction provide on-demand assistance to students for their technology needs and technology questions that impact student success and retention.  Direct students to relevant information sources at the college and beyond to promote student success. Plan and execute training and awareness events for students in various modalities.  

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Provide on-demand, individualized technical assistance to all students in various modalities. This includes actively assessing student technology needs and navigating them to personalized direct points of service and encouraging end-user agency (25%)
• Support students with resolving technical issues related to course success through public-facing training and awareness events in high volume areas, including but not limited to the College libraries, student success centers, and other locations/modalities (25%)
• Directs students to relevant information at the College that include software, activities and workshops sessions that focus on student success and retention (20%)
• Assist with organization of on-site technology trainings and activities for students and faculty (10%)
• Identify common technical knowledge gaps and notify manager of potential training needs for students (15%)
• Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
 

• Associate degree with two (2) years of direct customer service experience working in a fast-paced, public service environment.
• Spanish language skills preferred.

The Human Resource Lead position is responsible for leading the execution of the human resources, scheduling and cash office functions. Responsibilities include associate recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, benefits, employee relations, training, performance, policy communication, and scheduling. The Human Resource Lead is a non-exempt role reporting to the Human Resource Manager or Store Manager.

• Ensure that Associate on-boarding is executed proficiently, accurately and in a timely manner. Ensures I-9/E-Verify and background check compliance

• Lead the performance appraisal process and maintains personnel files

• Ensure benefit administration and communication occurs in a timely manner

• Assists with employee relations by witnessing associate coaching and counseling; submit termination requests as directed by executives and administer exit interviews

• Partner with store executives to create a store schedule the meets store budget, base staffing, and weekend percent guidelines through minimal edits

• Lead the Office-Deposit function that includes all aspects of monetary maintenance in the store including processing the deposit, maintaining store petty cash funds (registers and vault), and performing the sales audit function

• Human Resource Lead will act as a key-holder with responsibility for leading the support staff as appropriate

Minimum Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

• 2-3 years of experience in retail and/or HR
