Average starting graduate salary now between RM2,482 and RM2,635

Did you know that the average salary for fresh graduates is now RM2,635!

An online job search platform Jobstore.com released its latest Jobstore Salary Report 2018/2019 which indicated that the salary for fresh graduates has gradually climbed by six percent.

The report revealed that the average salary for new graduates with honours is RM2,635 compared to RM2,482 last year.

Previously, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) annual report indicated that fresh graduates' salary averaged at RM2,169.

Not long after, Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) countered that figure saying that the average starting pay of graduates is actually RM2,618.



Jobstore also revealed the top 10 most in-demand job categories of 2018/2019.

These figures also shows the minimum and maximum starting salaries.



Jobstore obtained the figures by compiling salaries data in their database.

The report also revealed that Malaysia will be needing more employees in 2019.

Based on the statistics, Jobstore urged employers to pay fresh graduates their desired figure or benefit to retain talents.

Jobstore also advised employers to "upgrade their skills and make refinement" to their existing workforce and to fill the skills gap in providing future employees.
