ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain test scripts using Python to validate WD eHDD firmware and hardware features to ensure WD product meets the quality specifications using best practices like unit test, CI and Agile methodologies.

In general, under this role as a Material Planner, you are responsible for eensure material readiness for build plan commits, Inventory Management of excess and shortages, support engineering change order on time with clear material’s disposition, ensuring forecast demand and purchase requisition accuracy accordingly to MRP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

System data accuracy

• Ensure weekly data accuracy of forecast demand, Planner PR, DSI (Demand, On hand, OPO & others), BOM setting for primary/ Alternate, GPN/APN, Procurement Type, MRP Type and others
• Work with internal teams to continue drive for system improvement including but not limit to Oracle, MRP/Data base etc. business processes.

Build plan commits

• Works with US Planning and Asia planning to understand demand trend vs actual loading plan in short and long term.
• Work with buyer on PR and PO management and Supplier Commit to ensure material readiness to support demand trend and production plan.
• Work with POM/NPI procurement on material procuring process to support NPI qualification build till mass production.
• Review weekly Demand and Supply Integration (DSI) Report to determine part health status (shortages, excess etc). Provide accurate full kit/CTB/Material Commit and constraint list to support PCBA, MP & NPI build.
• Determine which commodity or capacity is gating for current week’s Material Commit Plan. Expedite shortage material to support demand upside.
• Manages demand and supply well in accordance with MRP messages to meet inventory target and avoid excess. [Weeks of Inventory (WOI), Weeks on Orders (WOO) and overall Weeks of Supply (WOS)].
• Analyze safety stock level setting for component level.

Inventory Management

• Manage excess inventory/liability for EOL project & obtained approval for disposal with justification.
• Work with POM/CP/Asia planning team to dispose material from aging/going to expire/NPI Qual.

ECN / ECO

• Ensure clear disposition & action taken for all related ECO/AML/MCO
• On time respond to all related ECO/AML/MCO from aging/escalation
• Other tasks assigned by managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform basic level analysis for production hold lots and give disposition and feedback to related team such as Product Engineer, Test Process Engineer, Assembly Process Engineer, and Test Equipment Engineer for issue investigation.
• Execute 1st level troubleshooting during test and escalate it to related team.
• Handle test engineering activity such as DOE/Volume checkout/correlation etc.
• Maintain 6S in common of lab, in charge of units control in lab.
• Provide support for hardware release such as product correlation and machine buy-off activities qualifications.
• Attend to immediate product/system related testing issues and demonstrates open communication policy and involvement with production and maintenance people on achieving problem solution.
• Perform 1st level EFA and 2nd level EFA for production hold lots and give disposition, and feedback to related team for issue investigation.
• Support related production issue related to TPE (flush out)
• Wafer test process

• Productivity improvement project: Lead in cost saving projects such as Productivity improvement, cycle time improvement, MMR improvement, etc. to meet company goals.
• Capacity planning and analysis to meet the volume demand and maximize the plant utilization.
• Maintain IE database and lead on the IE related system project.
• Time study and time standards: Perform time study data collection and analysis, continuous improvement based on Lean concept.
• Define production layout to ensure high efficiency and ergonomic for Lean operation.
• Coordinate in tool relocation & re-layout activities.
• Resources planning for DL & IDL based on production volume targets.
• Carried out material flow & process flow analysis. Study and explore opportunity to improve current process flow, material flow, line balancing, etc.….
• Validate automation performance and capability.
• Support IE in validating offline process activity such as conversion time, kitting time, tooling preparation time, etc. and opportunity to improve the offline activities cycle time.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, Process, and Automation team to achieve Operations KPI’s
