MAA Group Berhad (“MAAG”) is a Malaysian investment holding company listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia.

MAAG has a long history, commencing operations as Malaysian American Assurance Company Berhad (“MAAB”) in 1968, which was principally engaged in the General and Life insurance businesses. In 1985, MAAB changed its name to Malaysian Assurance Alliance Berhad (“MAA Assurance”).

MAAG (formerly known as MAA Holdings Berhad) was incorporated on 4 November 1998 under the Companies Act, 1965. It became the holding company of MAA Assurance and other non-insurance subsidiaries through a corporate restructuring exercise when the listing status of MAA Assurance was transferred to MAAG in 1999. In 2011, MAA Holdings Berhad became MAAG with the sale of MAA Assurance to Zurich Insurance Company Limited ("Zurich Insurance").

For over 4 decades, through its subsidiaries and associate companies, MAAG was principally engaged in Conventional Life and General Insurance, Unit Trust, Family Takaful and General Takaful businesses, Asset Management, Trust Fund, Property Management and Services, Information Technology and Security Services.

In June 2016, the Group disposed of its 75% stake in MAA Takaful Berhad (now known as Zurich Takaful Malaysia Berhad), a subsidiary engaged in takaful business to Zurich Insurance. With this sale, the Group exited the local financial services sector regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia.

Current business activities of MAAG include; Investment Holding, Education Services and a general insurance business via MAA General Assurance Philippines, Inc.

Notwithstanding the aforesaid business portfolio, the Group is currently engaged in an extensive search for additional new core business(es) to further diversify its income streams.

As at 31 December 2018, the Group’s total assets stood at RM757 million.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports.
Accounts Management:

Taxation and Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
- Identify and mitigate risks in financial processes.
Team Collaboration:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations.

Requirements:

Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Familiarity with Malaysian financial regulations and taxation policies.
Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero Accounting, Info Tech Software, Dext).
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other financial tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Language:
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Chinese would be an advantage

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for handling full set of accounts and daily operation accounting process especially in account receivable and payable and to ensure accuracy of reports for management to review company performance and cash flow position.
Carry out day to day office operations including organizing and monitoring files and records and to support company procedures and activities

Required to- DO (Key Result Areas & Activities)

1. Account Receivable

Key in daily sales invoice, incoming payment from customer to accounting system.
Follow up on due work-done certificate and due collection from client to ensure month end company cash flow in positive position.
Monitor and keep updating internal data in project summary for month end accuracy cash flow report.

2. Account Payable

Key in daily supplier invoice, matching invoice with purchase order and delivery order correctly.
Prepare certificate and request sub-con tax invoice, payment to supplier, staff salary and miscellaneous payment.
Reconcile monthly statement of accounts from supplier to ensure all cost and expenses taken in accordingly.
Monitor and check all double entry to general ledger to ensure correct records.

3. Monthly Reporting

Prepare the cash flow report including cash book, supplier and customer aging for management to review company performance and ensure positive cash flow for payment to sub-con and vendor.
Prepare the bank reconciliation report and to ensure all the transactions perform accordingly to accounting system.
Maintain and organise proper filing accounting records to facilitate annual year-end financial audit.

4. Admin

Coordinate and follow up day to day administrative and operation activities of companies such as handle incoming and outgoing call, acknowledge receipt of mail and documents.
Implement and maintain ISO document control and procedures, arrange training under ISO requirement and to ensure all requirement of ISO been followed and renewed annually.
Monitoring office maintenance, stationery, renewal matter etc: CIDB certificate, quit rent, assessment and office refreshment.
Check and ensure various staff claim etc: mileage, toll, entertainment compliance with company policy.
Prepare internal company certificate, back charge and internal progress claim.
Assist in banking matter etc: bank draft, tender/ performance bond.
Assist in admin purchases, issue purchase order and key in invoice to the system.

Position Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project planning, execution, and completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Reporting into the Chief Investment and Property Officer, this role responsible for but no limited to:

Project Planning and Execution:

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Project Manager and strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
Candidate must possess own transport and willing to travel.
