As a Operations Research Analyst, you will serve as the Load, Obligation, and Resource Analyzer (LORA) Power Systems Lead and related business processes authority and advisor for Power Generation Planning with full technical authority and responsibility for coordinating all aspects and activities related to the development, enhancement, testing, training, maintenance, issue resolution, and quality control of LORA. The lead is responsible for functional aspects of the LORA system as well as the LORA data model and definitions.

Starting at $131,445 Per Year (GS 14)

As an Operations Research Analyst, you will:

• Serve as a senior operations research analyst, BPA-wide technical expert, and senior advisor to BPA executives on BPA's long range financial and rates plan.
• Serve as the lead of a team of analysts and acts as principle technical expert responsible for leading, planning, and preparing the long range financial and rates forecast for the Power and Transmission business lines ensuring technical appropriateness, soundness, and accurate interpretation of results.
• Conduct analysis and provides recommendations by applying expert knowledge of the electric utility industry and financial forecasting to include mathematics, statistical analysis, computer modeling, decision theory, mathematical programming, regression analysis, and economic analysis.
• Serve as the senior operations research analyst, BPA-wide technical expert, and senior advisor to BPA executives on the application of BPA's Treasury Payment Probability standard and development of Power and Transmission financial risk analysis and mitigation applied in Power and Transmission rates.
• Lead a team of analysts, oversees and prepares the financial risk analysis for the Treasury Payment Probability financial model, including improvements and adaptations, to produce financial risk analysis for Power and Transmission consistent with BPA statute, policy, past practice and in alignment with BPA's 97.5% strategic plan goal.
• Lead a team of analysts and oversees the Power and Transmission financial Risk Analysis Study in Power and Transmission rates.

As an Operations Research Analyst (Recent Graduate), you will:

• Perform assigned segments or phases of larger assignments.
• Conduct analytical investigations using scientific methodology and problem solving.
• Analyze scientific data through computational processes; compare data from various reference sources or research agencies to identify correlating factors; and interpret the data and explain the mathematical or statistical techniques and limitations, and the significance of their use to the specific problem.
• Perform, interpret, and correlate various calculations, analyses, and computations for unknown factors or relationships that are primarily matters of a factual nature or involve mechanisms that are well understood.
• Learn techniques and gain knowledge through job experience and extended professional training that supplements technical understanding.
• Use computers and information technology and their varied applications to accomplish projects, designs, plans, and reports.
• Prepare required recurring reports, correspondence, and documentation.
• Plan and prepare special reports, statistical materials, and mathematical documentation. Recognize and apply an understanding of interrelationships among different functions and activities to determine the most appropriate technique for processing or presenting data.

Starting at $49,176 Per Year (GS 7-9)

We are looking for a Science Technician to provide support for our large, thriving and well-equipped Science department. The successful candidate will play an important role in giving students a wide variety of educational experiences in their Science lessons. Enthusiasm, drive and a passionate interest in this important subject area are all key attributes to this role. This is a permanent contract to start as soon as possible. The post could be full-time or part-time to suit the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at grade C or above. Relevant experience and health and safety accreditation would be an advantage.

Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.28 an hour; this increases to £15.41 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location and skills.
