RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Work with the Co-CEO to ensure efficient, modern financial management and planning systems, ensure that financial reports effectively inform business development and fundraising strategies and that the organisation demonstrates value for money across all activities and services.

Work with other members of SMT to improve their knowledge of the financial risks and opportunities for Team Domenica, mentoring them to develop a commercial attitude to their work.

Responsibility for all month end processes resulting in monthly Management Accounts reporting.

Oversee the timely operation and upkeep of accounting systems in accordance with financial procedures. We use Xero accounting software, and are in the process of bringing our (monthly) payroll in-house.

Prepare key account reconciliations and review those carried out by the Finance Officer to ensure completeness. This includes credit control with local authorities and others.

Review and analyse financial reports, with the manager, on performance against budget, to inform management decisions and strategic planning processes.

Prepare information for our Funders on the projects spend and work with the Fundraising team to present this in a meaningful way.

With the bookkeeper support the CEOs and Trustees to ensure efficient preparation of the annual financial accounts and budget, and the effective production of financial information to support funding bids, tenders and the generation of new income.

Work with the auditors to ensure that the annual audit is conducted in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of team management and managing workloads, activities and completing tasks to required deadlines. The role will also manage the coordination of all business travel arrangements for individual, group and complex itineraries including all associated payments and expenses. We are looking for a talented and inspirational Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance to join our team. You will be involved the design of a new course, the Accounting Finance Manager Degree Apprenticeship, and in the teaching of accounting and finance on undergraduate and postgraduate courses. About you

You will

be a talented and motivational educator, capable of supporting students to succeed;
Good honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
have professional expertise in accounting/finance
have experience of teaching on accounting and finance courses accredited by relevant PSRBs (Institute of Financial Accountants, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW)
ideally, you will be a CCAB membership (desirable)
ideally, you will have knowledge/experience of degree apprenticeships (desirable)
be a team player, committed to building an outstanding business school through the excellence of your work.

We work to prevent the loss of life on the coast and at sea. We produce legislation and guidance on maritime matters and provide certification to seafarers.

What Will Be Your Day to Day Responsibilities?

In your role you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Collaborate with the National Business Unit Manager to maintain efficient business support and resource.
• Handle financial tasks, including processing accounts, invoices, and cash transactions
• Ensure compliance with company standards, engaging with finance and procurement teams to uphold governance.
• Complete administrative duties which will include assisting in audits, taking telephone calls, responding to emails and working on Excel inputting and extracting data.
